If you don't already know about this blog and book by Emily Spivack, you should definitely take a look at it - even if you are not in the Fashion Design, or Fashion Stylist programs. If you are at a B2 and up level, talk about a memory linked to a favorite piece of clothing, as contributors to Spivack's blog have done. Your explanations should be about 4-5 paragraphs long.

Unit 1: Colors & Adjectives
Go to David Hockney's website, the 1960s paintings to practice describing: colors & objects in the painting. Also express your opinion. Do you like the paintings? Why? Why not? What kind of mood do they transmit?
http://www.hockneypictures.com/works_paintings_60.php
For extra practice, read about David Hockney, and write about one of his paintings. Send it to me by email & I will correct it. You can reach me at teachrmarye1@gmail.com
Remember that the order of adjectives usually follows this type of categorization:
opinion size age color nationality materials + NOUN
(If there are more than two adjectives, commas usually separate them)
a nice small young grey French silk dress
a funny little story
a tasty big pink grapefruit
a nice long antique gold Greek necklace
*Most often, you would use multi-adjectives in writing. In speaking, we break up our descriptions:
"I found this amazing gold necklace while I was on vacation in Greece. We walked into an antique store and it immediately caught my eye. I really like it because it's just the right length: not too short, nor too long."
